Pierogi are boiled, baked or fried dumplings of unleavened dough traditionally stuffed with potato filling, sauerkraut, ground meat, cheese, or fruit. Of central and eastern European provenance.

Recently, we invited some friends and family over to make Pierogi in our subterranean kitchen here at the Green Frog studio. Food For Thought magazine were looking for a photo spread on the process; not just how to make them, but to chronicle the bonding experience that deepens among attendees in this longtime, traditional social network.

As the invites went out, local television station WZZM heard about the festivities and wanted to do a feature story for the weekend morning news. A crowded kitchen for sure, but we made lots of food to share and had a great time.

...Of course we 've got lots of photos! If you'd like to see more about the process, click here.
