Normally, we like to feature some really cool new photo that we want to share with our friends. This time though, we'd like to show something really cool that some of our friends are doing. We were contacted recently by the Michigan Allied Poultry Industries association. A group of eight Michigan egg farmers were meeting at our friends, the Herbrucks, processing facility near Saranac. They were on a mission. Working together, enough eggs were cracked to fill a tanker truck, which was then sent to a drying facility in Iowa to be dried, packaged and sent on to the relief effort in Haiti. All told, the aid donation totaled 576,000 eggs- or $100,000. Way to go! Click here to see what was involved in the process. |

This effort was part of the Good Egg Project, America's egg farmers' effort to fight hunger. For more information, see this at the Michigan Dept. of Agriculture. |
